BUT and it’s a BIG but…..

TWO GLASSES OF WINE

I found this on the back of a piece of scrap paper that I was just about to throw away – would love to share it with you……….

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 glasses of wine……

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.  When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.  He then asked the students if the jar was full.  They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.  He then asked the students again if the jar was full.  They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.  Of course, the sand filled up everything else.  He asked once more if the jar was full.  The students responded with a unanimous “yes”.

Happy as You Want to Be

Almost everyone has heard of the hit single ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ by Bobby McFerrin. The song has a very catchy way of conveying its message of being happy to everyone. Bobby McFerrin’s simple message surely made a lot of people happy by simply telling them not to worry.
Living a happy, resilient and optimistic life is wonderful and it’s also good for your health. Being happy actually protects you from the stresses of life. Stress is linked to top causes of death such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.

One of the better things ever said is – ‘The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change’ and in our life we have the power to make the necessary changes if we want to. Even if we find ourselves in an unbearable situation we can always find solace in the knowledge that we can change the situation.
Social networks or relationships are essential to happiness. People are different, accept people for whom or what they are, avoid clashes, constant arguments and let go of all kinds of resentments. If arguments seem unavoidable try and make an effort to understand the situation and try and work out a solution that suits both of you.
Happiness is actually found in everyone, increasing it is a way to make life more enjoyable.
