John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass – Can I write an eBook!!!!!

John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass – Can I write an eBook!!!!!

How can I write my eBook?  It is the crucial part of the Masterclass course – creating an eBook and I am having problems.  I have self-diagnosed myself with a severe case of ‘writers block’.  I know what I want to write about, I have even purchased the domain name.  I have written about 14 pages but now can’t get motivated to keep writing.  Panic is starting to set in!  I don’t want to give up and I won’t, I know I can and will finish the book but I need to ‘get my act together’ and get on with it.  I am not a good writer, never have been, never will be.  Perhaps I have chosen a subject with too much information to write about or perhaps I want to write too much information. I have tried the old ‘have a break for a couple of days and get back to it’ trick. Didn’t work – felt worse, I couldn’t focus at all.

John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass Week 15 and 16

Week 15 of the Masterclass course arrived again with no videos.  As this is the stage where everyone is writing their eBook, John is not posting any videos to watch as creating the eBook is the most important activity that you should be doing.  When you have completed your eBook, John suggest that you get 2-3 people to review your work. The best idea is to make sure you get someone who will give you an honest opinion such as a close friend or relative.  If you are offered any suggestions take them on board and make more improvements if you can.

Week 16, nearly half way through the course, this week we have videos, yes by this stage you should have your eBook just about completed.  This week John talks about adding value to your product.  Can you add an audio e.g. record yourself reading your eBook or record an interview with an expert in the field that you are writing about.  Another value adding option is video.  Sometimes it is easier to show someone how to do something than it is to write how to do it. Adding worksheet and checklist is another option that can be added to your eBook.  If your eBook has any instructions details having a checklist is a good way for people to mark off what they have to do in a specific order.

Blogging for Children: Starting them Young

Recently I told you about my daughter’s new blog that she has created, so I thought I would give you more information about children and blogs.

Encouraging children to understand modern technology can be disturbing especially when they spend most of their time on it e.g.  Nintendo, WII, Computer Games. If you recognize the advantages of being in front of the computer plus know the basics, you could teach it to your children and there you have it, a web artist, computer specialist, or a journalist might be born.

John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass Week 13 and 14

I am sorry that I have not updated you on what has been happening in the John Thornhill Marketing Masterclass for a while.

Week 13 arrived and there were no video’s to watch, just John telling us that we should try and complete a first draft of our eBook.  At this early stage John does not expect it to “look pretty” we just have to concentrate on generating lots of content, one chapter at a time.

Week 14 arrived, again with no videos.  This week we have to read our (draft) eBook, adding to the content as we read. Plus check for any typos and grammar errors and correct them.  John has advised us to have a day or two off, then to read our eBook adding more content if we need to. Correcting typos and grammar along the way. Have another day or so off – thanks John. Read our eBook again and once again make improvements.
