Niche Decision Plus How The Young Outsmart The Old

Well I have finally done it.  Yes, I have finally decided on my niche for my ebook.  It has taken a long time because I wanted to make sure that it was the ‘right’ niche for me.  After a lot of keyword research, Google research and more importantly heart research, a decision has been made.  I must admit I had a huge amount of help from the incredibly helpful and supportive, current students and previous students of the Marketing Masterclass Forum.  Without their helpful advice I would probably still be undecided.

Yesterday was another big step; I purchased my domain name for my new product.  Again with helpful suggestions from the Marketing Masterclass Forum.  What would I do without my new family?

I have also been doing a lot of research for my book in the cupboards at home, I have books, magazines, papers, reports, etc. etc. in fact they are all over my desk.  Now the big job is to get them into some kind of order so that I can start writing.  I have a fair idea on what goes where in the ebook and I have started a list of chapters.  So it all looks as though it is all happening, scary but true.

John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass – Week 12

This is the week that we start to write our eBook.  Included with the first video was a link to Microsoft Office 2010 a Beta Version.  John has been using the beta version and has found it very good and has had no problems.  Also included was a link to OpenOffice which a 100% free software.   Both programs convert your document to a PDR file and are very easy to use so it is your choice which one you use.

In the second video this week, John advised us to create a folder in our Masterclass folder and name it the name of our product/ebook.  Create sub-folders in this folder called Graphics, Sales_page and product.  The Sales Page folder is where you put your sales page graphics that have been created by Planet Divinity; the files to be saved here are the images and index files.  In the Graphics folder, save any other graphic that have been sent by Planet Divinity e.g. ebook graphics.  The Product folder is where you save your ebook, each time you update your ebook it is a good idea to save it as a new version e.g. ebook1, ebook2 , this way if you save something that you didn’t want to you still have the previous version to continue with.

Week 11 – John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass

Writing your ebook!  I am still having a bit of a problem working out how I am going to do this.  Writing an ebook is quite scary for me as I do not particularly like writing. So if I am going to succeed in the Internet Marketing business, writing and writing well written, interesting articles, books etc. is something I am going to HAVE to get good at.

The first video this week from John explained that if you are having problems writing your book you can always get someone else to write it for you, John recommended a site called ELance.  At the site you look up writers to find one that would be suitable for the type of book that you want written and contact them, pay them and they write the book for you.  Easy!  Except, they might not write in the style that you want therefore you may have to change some of the book.  Might be easier to put your head down, fingers poised and start writing yourself.

Be A Winner

Today when I was filing some papers, I found a poem, I don’t know who wrote it but I thought I would share it with you.

BE A WINNER

Everyone’s a winner,

If that is what they choose,

Unless their choice is not to win,

Then, of course, they loose.

Winners always have ideas,

While losers fix the blame,

The two might seem to be alike,

They sure don’t think the same.

All winners have a dream,

Of what they want to do,

Then plan a life to reach their goal,

To make their dream come true.

Losers see a problem,

In every good idea,

All a winner sees is another chance,

To Further their career.

Until next time.

John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass Week 10 Update

Week 10 of John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass was again focused on niche selection.  Many of the 2010 students have chosen a niche but there are a few, including myself, still wondering which niche is the best for them.

John again recommended we should do more research on Clickbank marketplace to find a niche that we would find interesting and profitable.  I have been checking Clickbank and then doing a Google Keyword search and finding it very confusing as some of the niches that I am thinking of have large keyword search results but are not popular on Clickbank. Anyway, I am nearly there, just a little bit more research to work out whether to ‘go deeper’ into my niche.

Niche Creation

John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass Update Week 9.  This week John advised us that we would be concentrating on niche selection as a continuation from last week’s lesson.  Last week we were asked to write down topics that we could use as a profitable niche.  John’s personal opinion is that you do not need to do any keyword research, what you need to do is find out what people are spending money on.  If people are spending money on something, then that equals a profitable niche.  The best place to do this is the ClickBank marketplace, where you can look through all the categories down the left hand side, or you can search for keywords. We are told that some people advise not to go to a “crowded “marketplace because there is so much competition.  If it is a popular niche and people are spending money there is also the potential to make money if you do it correctly.
