100 Comments Challenge – What a Challenge!!!

Hi everybody, well hasn’t the last month been busy?  I have been taking part in the 100 Comments Challenge that Jacinta Dean and Steve King (both fellow students of John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass) has instigated.  The idea of the challenge is to get 100 people to submit their blog post as part of the challenge, then for all the contributors to go to each of the blogs and leave a comment.  At the end of the challenge (it is running for the month of August), everyone should have at least 100 individual comments on their blog post. To help get the most out of the challenge of receiving and giving blog comments, a few plugins are recommended to be installed.  The plugins help with websites traffic, page ranking as well as keyword rankings.

To say this has been an interesting and exciting challenge is an understatement.  The amount of interest that has been generated on the internet has been amazing.  There are people from all over the world now contributing their blog posts and people are visiting blogs that they would never have even known about before.  When you are new to blogging and you can actually see that you are getting people to your site, it is very exciting.  It is even more exciting when they take the time to leave a comment.

Since contributing my blog post to the challenge, I have had more than 40 people leave a comment.  No, it is not 100 comments but we still have a couple of weeks to go before the end of August, so I am hoping that I will have a few more people visiting my post.

Have I been to everyone’s blog post and left a comment – no!  I am working on it.  I try and visit at least 4 or 5 posts a day and leave a comment.  Some day’s life gets in the way and I don’t get to any blogs at all but I am trying.

So what is the worst part about the challenge, not getting to enough blog posts a day to leave a comment.  The best part is the people that have taken the time to visit my site and leave a comment.  So many wonderful people have come to my site and left such encouraging and sincere comments.  I am lost for words to explain how good it makes me feel.

The challenge has really helped me realise that even though you sit at your computer all alone, you are not alone because you have friends out there in the bloggerverse. Friends that share and most importantly friends that care.  So thank you to all my new found friends, your friendship means so much.

I also want to say thank you to Steve and Jacinta for all the work that they have done to organise this, especially Jacinta, a really good Aussie Sheila. Thank you also to Barry Well’s for all his hard work and a special thank you to all the Masterclass Forum people for spreading the word so that the world can join this great challenge.

Until next time.

I also joined the 100 Comment Challenge and I had no idea how time consuming and exhausting this was going to be. I joined in late and now I am having to get to everyones blog by the end of August. It is cool because I am being exposed to other bloggers that I did not no existed.

    Good luck to you!

    Hi Rick

I agree that the 100 Comment Challenge is a bit time consuming but I love going to everyone’s blog, reading and learning about new things plus finding out about other people.

The problem I have is the same as yours. Will I get to leave a comment on everyone’s blog by the end of August? I will try but if I don’t get there at least I know that I have tried. Perhaps I shouldn’t read so much on all the blogs – but they are so interesting – plus it is a good way of learning.

Good luck with your visiting and commenting.

    Take care.

  2. Hi Robyn,

Blogging traffic is a give and take relationship. Sometimes one of the best ways to get traffic to your blog is by visiting someone else ’s blog. Go to their blog and read one of their entries, or read a few of them.

Good luck with the challenge and with your business.

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog. The 100 Comment Challenge has been great but I agree with you, there are so many interesting blogs to go to and read and learn that it has taken me a lot longer than I was hoping.

Yes, my brain freeze is starting to thaw, I think it might have something to do with writing so many comments.

    Hope to take again soon.
    Take care.
