To Continue or Not To Continue – That is the Question
What a BIG question. Has anyone else thought the same thing in their life? Is it better to continue doing something just for the sake of it and feel as though you are not putting everything into it or do you give up and feel a failure? Either way you are not being true to yourself.
I am a student of John Thornhill’s Marketing Masterclass. I love John’s course, without it I would not be writing this. With John help, guidance and instruction I have learnt how to create a blog plus all the other ’bits’ that go with the creation of a blog. The way that John structures his course makes it very easy to learn how to create an internet marketing business.
Everything was going so well with the course, I had my blog created, I was posting to my blog quite often, mainly about the course and every week I couldn’t wait to receive my next lesson. When we started learning about writing an eBook it was exciting, I was going to be creating my own product – how exciting is that!!! I had a bit of a problem trying to work out a niche, should I go with something I know about or find something that might be more ‘sellable’? One of the places I went for help was the Masterclass Forum. What an incredible bunch of helpful people. Great advice, helpful suggestions, they certainly helped with my niche selection. It wasn’t until I started to write the eBook that I had problems. Yes, I suffered from a severe case of ‘writers block’.
I am still suffering from the dreaded block; I have had so many very supportive people helping me with suggestions on how to get over it. Nothing seems to work. It is now to the point when I am now thinking have I ‘bitten off more than I can chew’. Should I continue with the course, should I continue with writing the eBook, (I have already bought the domain name and have written about ten pages), or should I just give up and feel as though I am a great big failure? Does anyone else get into these ‘down’ moods or is it just me?
I still look forward to John’s lessons each week, still watch the videos, I just don’t write about them on my blog because I am not up to that component yet. One thing that I have noticed is that the Masterclass Forum has gone very quiet; I can only imagine that is because people are busy creating their product. I have also noticed that a lot of people are not posting to their blogs, is that because they are busy creating their product? Could any of these people that use to comment on the Forum and post on their blogs be having the same problem as me?
This post isn’t just about should I continue with John’s course or about writing my eBook, I will continue the course and I will write the eBook, even though it might take me longer than other people, as John says, it is not a race as long as you finish. This post is about, whether people should continue to do something in their lives that they are having trouble with, should they have a break from it for a while and go back? Or do we give up never to return and feel as though a good opportunity has passed us by and now we feel that we have failed? This situation could be anything; it could be about a relationship, a career decision, even to the small things like buying a car or home.
Life is full of decisions, sometimes we make the right ones, and sometimes we don’t. Either way we have to live with our decisions and learn from them.
I am sure my down mood will disappear soon and my head will be out of the clouds and my focus and passion will be back. If you are having the same problem as me, don’t forget the saying – a problem shared is a problem solved – let’s all work together to have a future that we deserve.
Until next time.

Hi Robyn, yes, these are totally natural feelings and a great many of us from last year’s course also had the same questions. Some dropped out, but those of us who continued are now reaping the rewards. Taking a break is a good move, don’t try to force it because you may start to resent it and then won’t get anything done. Turning to the forum for help and guidance is a good idea, and yes, the forum went quiet last year during product creation. It will spark up again once people get to sales pages and testimonials. Breaking your ebook down into tiny steps is a good way to get it done. If you need any help at all just shout!
Enjoy the journey.

Hi Mandy
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I am sure without the helpful and understanding people that are part of the Masterclass Forum, I would have given up weeks ago. Even though the Forum is quite at the moment I am sure people will be back when they have finished their product. With all these new found friends I am sure I can continue. Your suggestions of breaking the ebook down is a great idea, that way I don’t put myself under so much pressure. Thanks.

Hi Robyn
You are not alone!
I can tell you that pretty much every single person that has gone through or is going through the MC course, has or will at some stage doubt whether they have made the right decision.
When I went through the course the first time…I loved it. Many of the topics were over my head and often I just didn’t get it….but I was learning something new everyday..which was great.
As I came to understand things (as I thought I’d reached that stage) that’s when the frustrations kicked-in…it was taking too much effort and money for such little rewards…I voiced my frustrations in the Forum…where people helped in every way they could…and which I am thankful for.
I then moved onto thinking that the product I had created wasn’t good enough…self-doubt is great isn’t it!
But I persevered…it turns out that I’m still not happy with my first product, but as a learning curve it was the best thing that could have happened. I now have a ‘quality bench mark’ that all my products need to meet.
Right now I am making a really cool WordPress Product…the best work I have done so far…but only this week I have doubted in my mind whether I should continue with it…
I will, because it’s the only way to go…much better than telling yourself in later life – If Only I’d…
I wish you well with yours & help is always at hand in the Forum
Cheers

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment.
It’ funny isn’t it, how when you go through these self-doubt thoughts you think that you are the only one to feel that way. I would never have thought that you had any of these thoughts, you are doing so well with your business.
Your comments and understanding make me feel not so ‘alone’ and help me to see that I can do this.

Hi Robyn,
I think we all get into a slump! I know I do about 4-5 times a month!! Then I look at my goals and dreams and pick myself back up and get on it again!
Yes, you should continue, you’ve heard the story about the gold digger and he gave up when the gold was only three feet away! If he had just kept digging….You don’t want to be him.
Success and your ebook is right around the next corner!! A page a day…even a paragraph a day. You will get it finished!
Good luck and I hope you have an amazing day!!

Hi Lisa
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and leave a comment.
Yes I think it’s the case of pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get on with it. I have read the story about the gold digger and the story about the inventor of ‘Coke’ who sold the recipe for such a small amount of money only to see his recipe take over the world. I suppose you never know when you are going to create that special recipe and when you do you should treat it as gold.
Thank you for giving me such positive thoughts, they are certainly appreciated.

Hi Robyn, you’re not alone my friend. Thanks for posting this post and being honest, letting us all know what’s going on.
I’m a 2009 student of the MC and at week 19 i had to go into hospital for an operation and was told by Dr’s that i would need 2 weeks in bed after it to recover. That 2 weeks turned into 8 months as the op site wouldn’t heal. During this time my mum had a very serious health issue and i was out of bed to be by her side.
I kept doing what i could (when i could) to my blog and course work. Now, almost a year later i have nearly completed the 2009 course and have my product online.
I have my next product planned in my head and am slowly moving forward. I go back into hospital next month for another operation which will see me back on bed rest, hopefully only for 2 weeks (how that 2 week term rattles me).
Keep going with the course work, you’re amongst people that have been where you are and that are willing to help.
Like i said at the start of this comment Robyn, you’re not alone! As i travel around the MC blogs i’m seeing lots of people in a similar position, and i’m telling them all….small steps and you’ll get to your goals.
Well done for stepping up to the 100 blog comment challenge, i’ve added you to my dedicated page of contributors and wish you the very best of luck.

I now realize that I am not the only one that feels this way and with the help of my friends in John’s Masterclass I will and will take one step at a time.
Sorry to hear about your trips into hospital and I hope everything goes well with your next operation. I also hope your mum is feeling better.
I am looking forward to your next product, I am sure it will be a winner.

Hey Robyn,
I was going to post something similar to what you wrote because I hit the same wall.
In the beginning of our blogs I was struggling to write 250 words but as time crept by I was writing 1000 word posts that had a pile of crap that needed to be cut out.
Now I feel comfortable writing 600 – 750 word posts and am getting better at them. I decided to write a series of posts – interspersed with my regular posts – about my ebook.
My first ebook will be on utilizing humor in the workplace and so far I have written two posts on my blog about it and am working on number 3. That puts me 2000 words closer to my ebook which I will dress up with videos and ideas that grow from between the posts.
I will assemble my ebook after writing about 10 posts and go from there…
My first ebook will be my worst (hopefully) and with one under my belt, I’ll have the confidence to tackle number two!
Stick with it, Robyn. Something Great This Way Comes!
Great traveling with you, pal.

Hi Robyn,
To continue or not, I’m not sure of the answer for everyone, but as a very stubborn person, I usually alwasy continue. I hate giving up. I may be painfully slow (according to my wife), but I never give up.
Maybe going back to the start and why you began something is a good way to figure out if it is the right thing for you. Sometimes in the middle, we forget why we started.
Anyway, I am behind you in the Masterclass, and I havn’t given up so good luck the rest of the way.

Yes, I must admit I can be a little bit stubborn myself, “just like your father”, as mum used to say. That’s why I don’t want to give up, I don’t want to be a failure, I want to be the best I can, even if it’s to show my daughter that if you work hard enough at something you can get what you want.
Thank you for your best wishes with the course I am sure if we all stick with it, we will all be winners.
Good luck with the course, I am sure you will be one of the winners.

WOW – what wonderful comments. If people keep writing all these nice things, I am going to believe I can do this.
I don’t know if I actually know what I am talking about I just say what I feel. Sometimes people write what is expected of them but don’t put any feeling into it, to me that is not a real person that is a copy and paste article. If you write a blog post with your feelings showing, it makes it more human.
Thanks again for your wonderful comments, they are really appreciated. Please come back again, hopefully my brain freeze will be gone soon and I will be able to write more interesting posts.
Hi Robyn, You feel exactly the same as everyone else. Finding a niche was a huge problem for me. I picked one but I am still not entirely sure about it. Still I am pressing on with it.

Hi Brian

I am not sure about eating elephants but I must admit finding a niche was probably just as tough. Sometime it can be a bit like ‘you can’t see the forest for the trees’ syndrome. I think we all go through it to some degree, sometimes we just have to wait for the fog to lift until we can go forward.
With all the positive comments that I have received about this post, I think the fog is lifting and I am starting to see the trees.
Good luck with your niche, I would love to know how many people were really sure of the niche before they started. I think your niche is something that you have to make your own. Two people can have the same niche but it’s the way your personal ‘self’ into it that makes it different.
Thank you for your positive comments and best wishes.

Hey admin, very informative blog post! Pleasee continue this awesome work..
Hi Robyn,
Believe me….you are NOT alone! I had been though that myself. I just commented on Noelle Grandison’s blog @ noellegrandison.com about what I do now to overcome delays on my projects. The “Mantra” I used is this—Forward Motion Is everything.
I do have a few unorthodox way to overcome my writer’s block to share here, it may seems strange to some but they work for me
(1) Keep Writing, just write anything without thinking…sometime, an idea may appear when I look back to the “nonsense” notes I took.
(2) Find an article that I like, re-organize it into a point form and then re-write it. This is not to copy ideas from someone else, rather to get into the “writing flow” again.
(3) Pretend to write a mail to a friend to recommend a song or movie to him. Well, this is just to keep m writing something anything, so I can, again, get into the “writing flow”.
Other than that, you can also think out of the box to create your own product.
How about recording audio of you talking before getting it in a book?
You can also create videos instead. I recently came across a guy called Max Alter who is just a natural charm in front of a video cam. I can never do what he did as English is not exactly my 1st language. You can check out Max blog with his name plus a dot com to have an idea.

Hi Robyn.
Do you know what I think? I think that each and everyone of us has a little glitch thing going on inside our heads that only glitches at the worst possible times, you know the times when we just don’t need it. (If ever there was a time that we did)
I think this is just one of those times for you. And me too cos I’m getting this intermittently. One day every thing is great and going to plan, I get loads done and the next I don’t even want to turn my laptop on cos I know I won’t be able to do anything.
I think it has something to do with the fact that we have committed ourselves to something that is really scary especially as many others seem to be sailing through things and sounding like they know what they’re doing and we don’t.
I just keep reminding myself that todays “jobs” are not much different to yesterdays and an ebook is just a very looooong post.
It seems to help me get going again.
Hope you over come the writers block very soon, just don’t walk away from your dream cos one day you might look back and say “If only”.
All the best

Yes, there are certainly times when you don’t need glitches and this was mine. It is so true how some people seem to be able to do things without any glitches at all, or are they just not admitting they have them as well.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate them. Without the help and support of a lot of people I think I would have just given up. Now I know that I can do this, just not as quickly as I first thought.
I am sure we can both get through our glitches, I hope you come back soon.

Hey Robyn
You have me curious about this master class it sounds very good from what I have read.Could you please give me a web address to check it out. All the advice you have recieved above is really great. My view is it all comes down to your “Why” as in what are your reasons for doing the coarse and what do you want to achieve by writting the e-book. If your “why” is strong enough you will over come any obstacle put in your way.Have faith in your own ability and remember that you are worthy of the success that you desire. Each of us have amazing talents sometimes we just need to dig deep to find them. My advice to you is to find a mentor someone that believes in you and will help keep you on track.Enjoy the journey and stay true to yourself.

“Continue” is the answer Robyn. You’re worried that you have only written 10 pages of your ebook. I haven’t written a single page, but I’m not worried – It’s part of my plan.
I started the Masterclass Course in 2009 and dropped out at lesson 10; I knew I wasn’t ready to write an eBook. I concentrated on writing 250/300 word posts to my blog. After a year I have loads of posts on running marathons, and losing weight/keeping fit. I can use these as the basis of a future eBook.
However, I’m still not ready. Soon I will be writing 400/700 word articles, and only when I find that easy will I have a go at an eBook. It’s a similar system to the one Barry uses, except he writes article length posts. (Actually I think Barry’s idea is a much quicker way of getting an eBook completed).
Hope this helps. All you need to do is adjust your goals, and you will be satisfied that you are on the road to success.

Hi, Robin –

I am the worst writer of all – no joke. Yet most people would be surprised to hear that.
I use a lot of what’s already out there to write all of my posts. The trick is to make them your own by offering additional info, your own spin, etc. – don’t reinvent the wheel!

Hi Robyn,
Do not give up. You have come to far. This is a great blog.
Don’t let one little Ebook stand in your way.
You can find people very easily on the Warrior Forum that will write your Ebook for you. Also tons of graphic people. You could get it done for around $50-80. Might sound a lot, but ask yourself this, how much is your time worth.
Do this, your mind is clear again and you can concentrate on your business.

Thanks for your advise about the Warrior Forum, I might look into that. It certainly would have been a lot cheaper to pay someone to write the book instead of stressing about it all these weeks. We live and learn and hopefully we learn by our mistakes.

Hi Robyn
I first completed John’s program in 2008 and since then I have had many, many ‘down days’.
I have also had many ‘up days’ when I have achieved little victories–getting my first eBook on the market, making my first sale, signing up my first subscriber, making my first affiliate sale to my list etc.
The secret to long term success for me is to continually set myself little targets and achieving each one motivates me to achieve the next–sell 100 copies of my eBook, write a another eBook, sign up 1,000 subscribers etc.
In John Thornhill’s masterclass you have everything you need to build a successful online business all you have to add is the determination to see it through.
So get your chin up, Robyn and think about all of those little victories you have already had and all those new things you’ve learned, your first eBook doesn’t have to be a 200 page masterpiece, mine was around 40 pages but it provided the foundation for what is now a full time business and if I can do it so can you!
Best wishes!

I was also advised to write my goals …my reasons why cause a lot of the time this will help you get through the “dry times”.
Excellent post … it is a pleasure to be here and meet you.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and leave a comment.
Congratulations for having your prime source of income coming from IM, that’s great. How long have you been in the IM business?
I agree it can be frustrating and depressing when your brain has a freeze and doesn’t want to do what you want it to do. It’s like if you are out of control of your mind.
I also agree about goals, that is what I am going to do before I write any more blog posts. Get my goals sorted out so that I know what I am doing and when I am doing it.
Thanks again for stopping by I hope we can catch up again soon.
Take care.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
I haven’t read the book, sounds interesting.
Sometime I feel that doing things for the sake of it, is like bashing your head against a brick wall and wondering why it hurts.
My aim is to continue to work at my own pace and do a little every day, take it one step at a time.
Good luck in the Challenge.

Hi Robyn,
I can tell you that you are not alone on this subject. I too have many times had writers block or start pulling my hair out at creating graphics or come stuck with something going wrong on my sites or blog.
You have to keep going and don’t let the gremlins beat you. When we were all young trying to walk we just kept getting up and trying and falling, getting up trying and falling. Then one day we walked!! Yippee!!
Also if you loose your keys or phone and keep trying to look you just cant find them. Stop looking and they just turn up. How weird is that. This is a journey not a weekend vacation!!
Keep it up

It’s quite funny how something I had a problem with – brain freeze – happens to so many people, judging by the comments that I have receive. I know this is going to sound really terrible but I am glad other people have had the same problem, it makes me feel ‘normal’.
You are so correct, this is not a weekend vacation, if you are going to do something properly you have to stick with it. Hopefully we are all strong enough to not let the ‘gremlins’ invade our minds too much.

Hi Robyn,
Indeed, the “writer’s block” could be very daunting sometimes, and it just happened to me last week when I was about to write my new post… I came up with one idea and decided to type it down on my laptop, but what pops out to my mind is “BLANK BLANK and Blank” !!! ><" so I didn’t finish my post by the day. I think it happens to many bloggers, like u said "I have also noticed that a lot of people are not posting to their blogs, is that … "
But I think It is great that you have a mentor like John and all the friends from the forum. Hope you enjoying it and wish you best of luck.

Yes, it can be very upsetting when you sit down to write what is in your head and you can’t transfer it to the computer. It is reassuring to know that other people go through the same problem.
Without John and the people on the forum I wouldn’t even have a blog, so I am very grateful for the help and support.

Hi Robyn, I had a bit of a wobble on saturday when I decided for a few hours I was going to give up I seem to be spending my entire life on my computer, I even get pains in my right arm if I use it for too long.
I saw a quote at an exhibition on the saturday that said “find a way or make a way” so the very next day I signed up to the 100 blog challenge and I am still her in the game. I think we all have moment like this, as Stuart says its the litte targets and the little successes that make up the whole.

Hi Robert,
Thanks for visiting my blog.
I think there are a lot of people going through the ‘wobble’ stage. The 100 Blog Comments has come at the perfect time for a lot of people. It makes us stop and think if we really want to continue. To get 100 comments means we have had 100 people visit our site and that can’t be bad.
Good luck with your journey to success, make sure you have breaks from the computer every hour or so. You don’t want to get RSI and not be able to type at all, that would certainly mean an end to your journey.
Talk again soon.
Take care.

Hi Robyn
You must complete the course, that is essential. Walking in the shadows of success or walking alone the choice is yours. I tried going alone for 3 years and it does not work.
Your mentor became successful through persisitence and focus, this is the struggle you are going through, it will all come good.
I am by no means successful online but I can see things beginning to take shape and this drives me forward.
There is a right time for every thing that you do or attempt. I have signed up for courses, then walked away. This was because I did not get it, I was not ready for their content. 6 months later with more experience, I returned and could see the value in their words this time.
Love the honesty

Yes I am going to finish the course but I am going to do at my own speed, as John says, it is not a race, as long as you finish it.
I understand about trying to do things alone, it just doesn’t work. Having a mentor like John certainly helps and I know that if I stick with it, good things will happen.
I glad that you are starting to see things happening, as the saying goes, from small seeds, big things grow.
Take care.

Hi Robyn, you have written a very relevant post, and i’m sure most, if not everyone, will identify with the feelings you are expressing here.
Steve’s reply sums it up very well, so you should take note we have all been, and many will continue to be, in your position throughout the course and after.
Like you, before I came on this course I had no idea how to create a blog, or how important they are, also before the course I had no idea of how to create a product… but now I’m well into creating something I had once thought only highly successful marketers with years of experience could do.
Joining this masterclass was the single best decision I have made since deciding to become an internet marketer, but like anything worthwhile, it takes a lot of effort, determination and commitment as well as the pure desire to change your circumstances for the better.
If you give up now you might as well get a t-shirt made with ‘I could have been successful, if I could have been bothered to make the effort, ‘ printed on it.
Sorry if that sounds harsh but sometimes people who get a kick up the butt go on to do wonderful things,
you have a major hurdle with your writers block… so why not go find three or four ebooks connected to your niche and as much info as you can from article sites and forums. Read through all that info, copy and paste big chunks of it into ‘word’ if you have it, if not any word processor you have, if you dont have one, Keith Alston is giving away e-writer pro from the downloads page on his blog,
Once you have enough info for your product, go through it all, re-writing it as you go, delete the paragraphs you have re-written, what you will be doing is combining all the good bits from each of those products and articles until you have a super ebook!, when you have re-written the whole lot you have your first draft of your ebook, which you can now go through again, re-writing as you go, adding pictures and links etc.
Re-writing something which has already been written is a lot easier, the trick is to make sure your first draft is very different to the info you have used, create your own chapter names and source your own pictures and screen shots. Making one super ebook out of three or four means your product could well be the definitive book on your niche available so far. Just make absolutely sure it does not resemble or read like any of your source books.
I’v just received week 27 of the course, thing is I’m still on week 17 developing my product, am I worried I’m being left behind? no, because there is no absolute time limit on this course, and my product is a bit bigger than you would expect from a newbie so is taking longer, plus I have had a load of setbacks, but I refuse to be de-railed from the course, I refuse to even consider giving up, I will get to where I am going sooner or later.
Its reaching your destination that matters, not how you get there or how long it takes you, you have written ten pages of your ebook, thats a good start now go find the rest of the info you need and ‘grow’ that book! you can do it… but you have to give yourself permission first!.
Hope this helps…

I realise now after receiving all the comments from this post, just how common ‘writers block’ is. When you are sitting at your computer, it can be a very lonely experience and you don’t realise that there are 100′s, 1000′s or million’s going through the same thing.
Thanks for the ‘good kick up the butt’. I am going to finish the course, one step at a time, in my own time. Thank you also for your advise on copy and pasting articles, etc, I am pretty sure I have quite a few about my niche, on my hard drive. I just need to get my act together and do it.
Good luck with your product, it sounds as though you have been very busy, I can’t wait to check it out when it is finished.
Thanks for all your support and helpful tips, it is really appreciated.

Hi Robyn,
Never give up! That is the answer to your question. Some guys start well but have no staying power. Don’t be one of those guys, you will regret it later when you ask yourself the question “wonder what I would have been doing if I never gave up?’
Internet marketing is one of the easiest businesses to get in to but one of the hardest businesses to succeed in. The reason being your competition is massive! Everyone wants a piece of the dream, but don’t realise how hard it is to get.
You are in a great place with John and his forum so stick with it

No, spring hasn’t arrived yet. It has been a very cold winter this year, either that or I am getting old and feeling the cold more.
It’s amazing what some think is a blog/website, we just have to do the best we can, a little at a time.
Good luck with the challenge.

Hi Robyn,
I am sure your post touched many, many people because they are experiencing the same or similar situation. I came through John’s class last year and remember hitting a bit of a “bump” when it came to creating a product.
But, those who consistently and persistently push forward and never give up…no matter what the odds are the ones that will succeed. It’s really as simple as that.
I think we all know when we need a break. I become overwhelmed when I’ve been working myself too hard and then I realize I am not looking forward to it anymore…time for a break.
Don’t give up Robyn. Take a break…get away from it for a while but don’t give up. Winners never give up…that’s why they are winners! It truly is survival of the fittest (those that want it the most!)
Good luck with the challenge Robyn…and your product…

Hi Robyn
Obviously the answer is to continue. EVERYONE faces challenges like this. What separates successful people from failures is how they deal with it.
I’d recommend one of three courses of action:
1. Write the the contents page of your ebook, i.e. the title of each chapter. Then right bullet points of what each chapter will contain. Then just expand each bullet point, or …
2. Search the internet for information on your ebook topic and just re-write what you find in your own words.
3. Pay someone to write it for you. You’ll find someone to do it for you on elance.com. You might be surprised how cheap it will be.
I’ve posted a link to this page on identi.ca for you.

Great post Robyn. I wonder if you chose to write an ebook in a niche that you are passionate about or was that not “sellable”?
It really helps if you know a lot about your subject or have a real passion for it. I had a look at your about page but you don’t give us any clues!
My first ebook was in a niche that I am really passionate about. It flowed easily but took time. It’s harder if you don’t really know a lot about the niche but free PLR stuff could help give you some ideas and get over your block. It can help to take a break sometimes and let your brain relax. Ideas come at the most unexpected moments.
I shall be interested to hear how it goes. Good luck.

Yes my niche is something that I have a lot of experience and passion for but I didn’t mention it on my blog because it is completely different to internet marketing.
After deciding on my niche and buying the domain name, I did a lot more research and realised that there was a lot of free information on the net which was exactly what I was going to write about in my ebook. Why would anyone pay for an ebook when they can get the info for free?
I am still going to write the ebook but in my own time and in a different way.

My name is Fran. I signed up with the 100 comments challenge with Jacinta and Steve. So I have to write and receive comments from the group you are in. Now according to the list I have I came to your blog and read it. I felt bad, knowing that right now you are in a confused (I hope you do not mind me using this word, I wish you the best) state of mind. It is not a good position to be here. Guess what I have an idea. Write two articles. One with all the positives, if you start with JT Master course, and another one with all the negatives. Next day or few days after read both the articles and based on your own words choose one that has more positives and come out of this situation.
I wish you the best. In the mean time go to my blog and leave a comment about this blogging post, that is a part of this comment writing challenge.

My ebook was written halfway, and I’m sort of taking a break and trying to find my focus once again, before continuing again with this journey.
One thing for sure, I’m not dropping out! I believe the MC works, judging from all the wonderful lessons that we’ve been receiving so far. This MC is one that allows us to learn at our own pace, some achieve it faster, while others slower. As long as we persevere and don’t give up, we’ll be there someday!
I hope you’ll be able to find your motivation soon and carry on (similarly to what I’m doing now). Hang in there and all the best!

Hi Robyn
Whatever you do don’t lose heart. Try to maintain your original vision which is why you joined John’s masterclass in the first place. Take me as an example: it took me 21 months to complete John’s 16 week course but I now have a product out there in cyberspace. As a result of completing the course (eventually) I am now bursting with ideas to improve my product offering and to create new ones. Hey, who knows – I might even sell a few!
If you think it’s taking you long to write consider this quote from Oscar Wilde “I was working on the proof of one of my poems all the morning, and took out a comma. In the afternoon I put it back again”.
The only tip I can offer about writing is the Nike slogan “Just Do It” Try writing about anything – you managed to compose this post very well. After you’ve built up some writing momentum, maybe go back to your project. I find it difficult to write one article. But once I’ve written one and got a head of steam up I could write all day. It’s the starting that’s difficult. Athletes do warming up exercises before doing their sport. Try and find some warming up exercises for your writing.
Maybe blog commenting!
Best regards
Doug

Congratulations on finishing John’s course, as John says, it’s not when you finish that’s important, what is important, is that you finish.
I like the idea of the warming up exercises. My brain get so cold it certainly need to warm up a bit. One thing that has really helped with getting back to writing is the 100 Comments Challenge. So many blogs to visit, so many comments to leave and so many comments to reply to.
I hope if other people have had the same ‘brain freeze’ as myself that the Challenge has helped them as well.
Thanks again for dropping by it is very much appreciated.
Good luck with the Challenge.

Hi Robyn,
I think we can all subscribe to your feelings!
I “hit the wall” at regular intervals and have learned to recognize it when it happens. I just go and do something else that day.
I suspect we all need to get away from internet marketing and brain fog now and again.
I’m sure someone else has said this but the saying “How do you eat an elephant?” and the reply “One bite at a time” is a good one.
Good luck with your eBook.

*hugs to you Robyn* I’ve experienced those moments of uncertainty and a dip in enthusiasm. It’s part of the human experience. No worries
From my understanding, there is no single answer to “should I continue the course?” Everyone is unique. Reframing the question may give a new perspective though. That can produce a clear answer that is right for YOU.
“Why am I considering a change of course?”
Is it because of fear based thoughts? Feeling like your results are “not good enough”, you “don’t have what it takes”, or that you “owe someone”? That’s the ego, baby! It loves to tell you untrue stories in hopes that it will keep you “safe”. That’s when it’s often time to reaffirm your commitment to the project and keep going.
But did you have a passion for the project to begin with? Has your interest paled in comparison to another idea that you are really and truly on fire for? This may be an indication that it’s time to move on.
Much love to everyone at this crossroad. Victory to you, whatever you choose!

Thanks for the ‘hugs’ they are much appreciated. Sometimes you just need that hug and reassurance to make you feel that life isn’t that bad after all. I remember a quote from John Lennon “Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans”. I don’t think I lost the passion, just life got in the way of making other plans.
Life will go on and so will the plans, I will just have to be a little bit more organised.
Thank you for your lovely words and good luck with the Challenge.

Hi Robyn
This is something that all of us suffer from and we all go through .. so don’t worry much and keep doing what you are doing .. but with some breaks so that you can free up your mind and back to it (with whatever you are doing – in your case ebook product creation) with full force.
Being part of the 100 blog comment challenge was reading Mike’s blog about writer’s block blog – I’m sure you’ve found some good tips from there …
You mentioned that you are going to continue with the course and ebook writing – good stuff, DON’T quit!
I was on the Working With Alex course (Alex Jeffreys) and I think I have not yet implemented 20% of what was taught. However I will go back to the complete course and re-do it once I complete the tasks at hand.
Go by the flow and talk to fellow marketers and friends and you’ll be fine. I have been through this and this does keep coming back. But I think that’s all part of the learning process and business
Keep your spirits high …
Cheers!

Hi Robyn!
I believe that EVERYONE (even the biggest internet marketers in the world) is facing these “down” moods so DON’T worry. I am too sometimes. It is very natural getting disappointed and frustrated if you don’t get something right from the first time. Just CONTINUE until you’ve managed finishing each task. (Remember it doenst have to be 100% perfect! – nothing is)
Everyone is facing different difficulties on each “level” of their I.M. journey but only people that continue are successful. I could give up I.M. 8 year ago!!
If you decide to give up internet marketing completely (I know that you aren’t but you will feel it a few times in different stages of the course) then you will be VERY UPSET with yourself when you find out, in the future, that lots of other Masterclass students are making good money online. Actually I am 100% sure that many students will be making at LEAST $5,000 in the following years and change their life completely! One of the best marketers like Omar Martin used to be a student of the John Thornhill’s Masterclass!
If Masterclass Forum has gone quiet is either because they all quit the course and don’t want to succeed online or they learn how to create websites and products and they are WORKING on creating their businesses! You have to continue too!
Yes life is full of decisions and we have to decide each time what to follow. The sure thing is that you have to “CONTINUE” with something!

Hi Andreas,
Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.
Yes, life is one big decision factory and we learn from our decisions, good and bad. It is how you use your decisions that can make or break who you are. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. I just have to be tough and continue.
Thanks for your kind words and encouragement, good luck with the Challenge.

Hi Robyn,
Welcome home. It seems you are human, after all. Just teasing. I think I heard it said some where it may not be easy but it will be worth it. I also think I heard it said, maybe I read it, I cannot remember which, I have Sometimers Disease, that there is opposition in all things.
Anything worth while may make you struggle, but is the struggle that makes what we are. Even the little chick has to struggle to get out of the egg. If we help him out he will not survive.
I certainly not suggesting we do not need and should not receive it , I am suggesting we do need lifes challenges to make us grow. What would there to appreciate if we got everything with no challenges applied?
Now, I need to follow my own advice. Go get’um tiger. That eBook in is in you. Just type it out.

I like the idea of Sometimers Disease, I sometimes say I have Oldtimers Disease, as you get older the brain really slows down. Well that’s my excuse anyway. Perhaps I should just say to myself, if you don’t use it, you loose it.
Life can be a struggle and life can have many challenges, it is how we deal with them that makes us grow as a person.

Hi Robin.
I’m not in John class, I’m in Alex Jeffreys coaching. But I can tell you that the “dark mood days” also happens to me. In my last post, regarding the resources you need for build an online business, I talk about “those” resources there are not technical, educational or financial. They’re your inner resources.
But I would like to advise you a video (only 7 minutes) from Stephen Pierce that I also posted in my blog: the earning curve (no typo here). The link is http://jorge-bento.com/internet-marketing/the-earning-curve/

Hi Robyn
I made a comment on another blog about writers block. What I do is just do something else for a while – do other work or go for a walk and it is amazing where great ideas strike you.
Another thought is to look at some PLR content in your area, it may just give you the ideas to start those creativity juices. Whatever it takes keep at it as it will give you immense satisfaction to see the finished product.

Hi Anne,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and for leaving a comment.
Yes, writers block seems to ‘attack’ a lot of people and we all have to work through it, work around it or give up. I am too stubborn to give up so I will just have to get my act together and just do it.
My product may not be the best on the net (when it’s finished) but it will be mine and you are sooo right, the satisfaction I am going to feel is unmeasurable.
Thanks again for stopping by and good luck with the Challenge.

Hi Robyn,
I too have an ebook which I want to compile for my mailing list however at the moment, it’s on the backburner because like yourself, writer’s block makes everything gruelsome. Maybe that’s not the word I want to use but it’s grueling enough to try to write when you can’t. However, blog commenting helps.
So far with this challenge I’ve seen how commenting opens up the writing process more. Thus, you begin to fill yourself with thoughts which you can carry over to your next post. Also do some backlinking at the same time.
Hope that helps. Besides, it’s great to be apart of a community which will kick you back up.
See you at the 100th comment!

Good luck with your ebook and best wishes for the Challenge.

Hi Robyn,
Your thoughts are completely natural and it’s something I am sure many of us in the online business have experienced.
I too experienced the same trouble when creating my very first product and it can seem so easy to just give up and call it a day but try and remember the reason a lot of us are doing this in the first place – to try and create a better lifestyle for ourselves and our familes.
The Internet is massive and there is always someone out there who can help whether it be in a forum or on a google search. Do some digging for the informatuion you need and you will find what you are looking for and be sure to always ask for help in the MC forum as they are the best of bunch of people I have come across and someone always comes up with an answer!
Best of luck!

Hi Steve,

‘Brain Freeze’, ‘Writers Block’ what ever you want to call it appears to be a very common complaint amongst internet marketers. I haven’t worked out a percentage but most people that have left a comment about this post have suffered from this ‘condition’.
Yes, I agree totally that the people on the MC Forum are the best. Helpful, giving, sincere to name just a few words that describe these people. Without their help in the past and I am sure, in the future, I would have given up.
Thanks for your helpful advice it is very much appreciated.
Good luck in the Challenge.

Robym, Continue!! No matter how long it takes, just think of the reward and satisfaction that you will feel once you have completed your ebook. I would suggest either taking a break as sometimes when you focus too hard you overlook the obvious and its strange how when you do something else ideas will suddenly come to you.
The other suggestion I would make is to read around your topic and get other ideas which you can spin or incorporate into your ideas adding your own twist. Good luck and look forward to the end product!

Yes, I am going to continue to write my ebook but I am going to do it in my own time and not put pressure on myself to finish. I think I was putting so much pressure on myself to have the best ebook with the best content, best graphics, best this, best that, it just didn’t work.
With the help of the Challenge I am feeling a lot more confident that I can finish. The ebook doesn’t have to be the best ebook ever because I can keep writing ebooks and keep getting better each time.
Thank you for your helpful suggestions and advice, I really do appreciate it.

This post has moved me (…and thanks again for popping over to my blog…)
I read the post and remembered all the times when I was watching other people who were at the same stage as me and wondering what they were doing and how far ahead they were going and I wasn’t!
When starting out I hit a couple of roadblocks and then the fear set in…
“Am I really able to do this?”
“Why is everyone so far ahead and I’m so far behind?”
“Is my “stuff” going to be as good as theirs, and if not, should I even bother putting it out there?”
Don’t know what happened, must’ve been reading a book or something, but I changed the way I used my “fear”.
I decided to to use my fear as a mental trigger to tell me that I’m going in the right direction.
They say as you get out of your comfort zone you grow as a person, so I constantly started to look for things to make me scared.
Since that point, my business has really started to take off.
You will finish that book. Just see anything that’s trying to sop you as a hint that you’re going in the right direction. If you get too comfortable with something, probably means that you and your business is not growing as much as it could be.
Thanks for the post Robyn.

Hi Robyn,
I too say – keep trucking!!
When I hit the block if product production I too nearly gave up but then I “cheated”, grabbed a PLR product and modified it. then I could continue with the course and worry about the product production bit later in my own time without holding up my progress in the course.
“Cheating” or “adapting, overcoming, working around”???
Keep it going!

Hi Robyn,
Thank you for a great post, you are saying what I am feeling too and like you, I am also learning that we are not alone.
I too am on with product creation in the masterclass and finding it a struggle, but I am determind not to be beaten by it. Judging by all the positive comments you are receiving I know you will not give up as well.
It is so disheartening when you feel that everyone else knows what they are doing and you just feel that you can never be as successful as them.
But one thing I have learned from everyone I have been in contact with is that it is normal to feel this way. This is when it is most crucial not to give up!
So Robyn, I am sure you will make this happen for you. Just look at what you have achieved so far, your blog looks great and the progress you are making is a credit to you.
So keep up the brilliant work and do keep in touch.
Good to meet you on the challenge.

Hi, Robyn,
Yes, I think all newbies have been through this point. Write out and stick near your computer:
“Quitters don’t win and winners don’t quit”
With regards to a product – I just couldn’t get my head around making one so I went the PLR route for now. Too much else to learn to do that as well. Maybe find one you like, revamp it and use that for your 1st product
Keep trucking

Yes, I must admit, that quote I have liked for a very long time but sometimes it all seems like too much to cope with.
The fog is now starting to lift and I can see light at the end of the tunnel. I am a fighter not a quitter, so whether I go for a ‘redo’ of a PLR book or keep writing, the ebook will be finished.

Robyn
To quote the movie The Patriot with Mel Gibson – “Stay the course”
I took a look at your blog and I think you are doing a great job here.
What you need to do is start thinking about your blog as your own company, this is not just a hobby it is a company.
It is a job, albeit a very fun job, but still a job and that means there are some demands. The first, you have to “go to work” spend the time you have signed up for and get as much done as possible.
What you also need to do is think about what are you offering your readers? Is this just a blog about someone elses product? (the course you are taking) or is there something truly beneficial with you and your company that might help me as a visitor achieve something.
Your product, what will it solve? Why should I buy it? Who am I who need it and so on, these questions need answering, once you have put your head down and get to work.
If you only problem is getting words on paper, then all is good.
Go back to the drawing board and get scientific about it.
Start planning it out instead, start deciding what needs to be said, where, when, in what order? Then you can craft the different chapter titles, then in text titles and so on.
Once you have the skeleton done the writing should be easier.
Hope this helped

Robyn:
You have gotten lots of encouragement and advice in the comments here. I can encourage you but it truly has to be something that you want to do. I understand what you are going through as I have been there myself.
I don’t know if you will be selling or giving away the e-book. If you do not feel comfortable writing an e-book, let me offer a couple of suggestions. Instead of writing an e-book, write a 5 to 7 page report. A second option would be to outsource it. Another option would be to use several e-zine articles from other authors to create an e-book (you would of course have to leave their bio with the article). These are a few ideas to get you started until you get more comfortable.
I really hope you decide to stick with it. Just think back to why you wanted to start doing this in the first place and hopefully that will be the motivation you need.
Good luck to you and I look forward to keeping up with your progress.

Hi Robyn!
I have certainly been in that spot before – going back and forth in my mind about whether I should continue on with something or not. It’s so easy to get stuck up in my mind over it and let myself be paralyzed by analyzing it.
I’ve learned that just taking action can go a long way toward clearing up the doubt. Any action. Write a few pages for the ebook, get a new blog post written and up, spend some time writing and email newsletter, or anything else that you can take action on to move forward. We can’t figure things out by thinking them through – we have to get in action and see how it works out in the real world. This has been so huge for me, as I tend to just let my mind spin and get nowhere.
I’m sure you’ll figure this out for yourself as well.
You are certainly not alone, and it was great to meet you and read your story on this issue!

Hey Robyn,
I think the “down times” happen to everyone. You certainly are not alone. I have times where I won’t pick up my laptop for a couple of days, then, all of a sudden, I grab it and try to “catch up” on the things I should have been doing.
About your e-book…sounds to me like you’re already at least half-way there. You got the domain and you’ve written ten pages. Most e-books I get are 18-25 pages. Some are longer, but they are the exception…so I say, bear with your down time and you’ll rebound fresh and passionate again.
I also think you should continue with John Thornhill’s course. Everyone needs a mentor and you’re fortunate to be where you are. I would give anything to be in his class.
The Masterclass Forum sounds like a very nurturing place…something you need now and will miss dearly if you quit the course.
Hope all works out for you. Thanks for the blog and sharing with us.

Hi Robyn,
Many thanks for your post.
The one comment that really struck me was:
“I had a bit of a problem trying to work out a niche, should I go with something I know about or find something that might be more ‘sellable’?”
For your first product I would absolutely recommend creating a product in a niche you know well. Please do not get bOgged down in whether it will sell OR NOT, I will be blunt – you need to go through the whole process of getting a product online – afterwards you can review and move on.
Please get back to me if you would like to discuss this further but after 10 years in the business I see your story all the time and it really shouldn’t be a problem.
Let’s get on Skype and brainstorm some ideas and get you back on track!
Kind Regards

Hi Robyn, you’re a very open and honest person and it’s nice to meet you. You’re getting such great comments from everyone. I totally empathize with you Robyn and I’ve had a similar experience some time ago. When I started I couldn’t see the next step stone on the path. Everything was a fog. I like the fog in a way so I stuck with it. I was often in despair and I didn’t like the feeling one bit. I just decided to deflect the bad and absorb the good and to start feeling good about my life all the time and knowing that if I’ve helped anyone along it’s been worth it even if “great success” eludes me I’m happy doing something I like. In a way, I’ve let go of success so I can simply be a success, naturally. Be well, Steve D.

Hi Robyn, In the words of Michael Jackson..”You are not alone – I am here for you” – along with everyone else on the MC forum.
This topic has got to be the one that affects the most people.
I don’t suppose there is an easy answer-thats the challenge I guess.
Take your time, as JT has mentioned on more than one occasion, it’s about you doing this course and it’s content in your own time. You will get there in the end of that I am sure, grit your teeth and persevere.. on that note I have now got ‘block’ lol
Best of luck in all you do Robyn

Hi Keith,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and for leaving a comment.
Yes, brain freeze, writers blog or whatever you want to call it, seems to be a universal problem. I now keep saying to myself everyday, it is not a race, take one page at a time, as long as you finish the course. Thankfully, John and everyone else on the forum help to inspire me and everyone else who is part of the Masterclass course. Knowing that you have that support really helps.
Hope to talk again soon, see you in the forum.
Take care.

Hi Robyn,

Hey Robyn – we all face challenges at some stage in our lives, sometimes they’re in life and other times in our work. I think the key to success is to front up to the challenge and find a way to beat it. Personally I love a challenge because I think life would be pretty dull without them.
Good luck with your ebook I’m sure you will finish it and it will be worth reading.

I am not sure whether I would say I love a challenge (or some challenges anyway) but I do know that they make you a much stronger person. Yes, I will finish my ebook and hopefully it will be worth reading and even if it’s not, at least I have achieved what I have set out to do.

Hello Robyn,
You definitely do not have to worry unduly about getting a bit stuck with your product and suggestions to take a short break from it are a good idea. Many people have the same problem. One of the great things about John’s Masterclass is that you have all the resources and lessons on your computer and it does not matter if you take a different pace. I have, as sometimes other things have to be done, either with other work or family or such.
As for inspiration for your product, I’ve seen good suggestions before to carry a small notebook with you and if you think of things about your ebook jot them down straight away, then when you have a bit of time to work on it, you will have a few things to inspire you to write some more.
It will come with time. Good luck.
Cheers

Hi Dave,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and for leaving a comment.
I agree, with John’s Masterclass you can achieve what you want AND you can achieve it at your own pace. When the Product Creation section came along I think I went into panic mode which created the writers block. Now I realise that I should just calm down and take each day as it comes and finish in my own time, as long as I finish.
Thanks for the tip about the notebook, I must admit as I get older I do get a little bit more forgetful.
Thanks again for stopping by.

John’s statement of it is not a race is soooooo true. Do not compare the speed at which you complete something with someone else’s rate. You need to work through at a pace that is comfortable for you. As long as you continue to take action and not stop, that is the key. John is a great guy to have as a mentor. Heed his advice, follow his plan, and you should go far!

Hi Jerry,
Thanks for dropping by my blog.
John’s statement regarding ‘it is not a race’, I agree, is very true. When I got to the Production Creation of the course and found that the mind went blank, I really struggled. I know now that if I go at my own pace, I will finish the ebook and the rest of the course without putting myself under so much pressure.
Thanks again for stopping by.

Hi Robyn,
Do you want to know a secret? I’m a student of John’s original Coaching Program (yes, before he renamed it to the Masterclass). I think this was back in 2008 that I started… it’s now almost the end of 2010 and I STILL haven’t completed all my lessons
But I did get my product for that class created!
Remember you don’t have a time limit for your product – sure you want to finish it on the schedule you are given, we all do. But if you force your product creation it wont be what you want it to be. When the time is right – it will pour from your fingers!!
Good luck and feel free to contact me if you need any help!

Hi Robyn
This is a very interesting question. I think the important thing is to ask why we are doing things. It is inevitable that problems will arise along the way, everyone has them in one form or another.
If you really want something then the problems become challenges, It can be easy to become too focused on the immediate challenge, and the goal can seem to be impossible.
I had my own manufacturing business for many years and I can hardly remember a contract that did not have some kind of clitch or another and sometimes I thought why am I doing this…I can really relate to what you are saying…. The thing is the contracts got delivered anyway.
I think your blog post is great hang on in there

Hi Vince,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and for leaving a comment.
Yes, I agree, when you keep focusing on your problems, they become even harder challengers. I realise now that we all should focus on the ‘end product’ and not let the small problems get in the way of creating the best product that we can.
Thanks again for stopping by, I hope you can come back again soon.

Robyn,
I find the best motivation comes from having a clear picture of what I want to achieve over a range of time periods. It can be a little dull sitting down working that all out but once the picture is reasonably clear it helps tremendously with motivation to continue.
I have a long term goal to transition from my current day job to earning income from online activities (notice I did not say ‘retire’) in a little under 5 years from now. There are some intermediate goals but when I get down to the monthly time period I have set specific activity and monetary goals. I break these down to weekly activities and then set about achieving at least one significant thing each day. The more the merrier
That way when the fog thickens and I seem to be struggling to see clearly where I am going I take out my plans and remind myself where I am on my journey, what my next step is and how I can achieve that next goal. It may not work for everyone but it sure works for me.
Cheers, Michael.

Goals – how many have them and how many actually achieve them. I can see that you are an achiever and I believe that we all should take a lesson from you and start working out our goals, write them down and have a look at them when we have ‘foggy thoughts’.

Hi Robyn
Take a break is what I say. Its surprising how some time away from it all can recharge your batteries and give you the strenght to carry on with what you want to achieve.
Think about your WHY when times are hard. The WHY your doing this in the first place and if you want your WHY bad enough you will take the actions needed to make your WHY come true.
Good luck

Hi Robyn,
We all get these feelings I’m sure. If you have enjoyed doing something for a considerable time then giving up just because of some roadblocks is probably not a good idea.
People can go quiet in the forums and it is usually because they put their focus somewhere else.
I hope that you will make the right decision for you and from what you’ve indicated I think that you will press on.

Robyn, some of the time I have used public domain books or articles to jump start an ebook on certain subjects. Manybooks.net is loaded with PD works and is easier to navigate by category than Project Gutenberg (gutenburg.org or in Australia (gutenberg.net.au), but I’ve always found something to kick start or inject more content into a product with from there. It’s kind of like adding yeast to a lump of dough to get it to start cooking. Sorry for the cooking analogy, but couldn’t resist!
Best of Luck!

I haven’t heard of manybooks.net or gutenburg.org before I will certainly be checking them out, thanks for the tip. I have thought about using PLR ebooks or articles but felt that I should try and use my own words. That hasn’t worked very well so perhaps I should just go with the PLR for the first ebook and when I have more experience, go with my own words. Hopefully this will give me a ‘recipe to success’.
Take care.

Hi Robin,
I feel the exact same you do should I quit or not this product creation, do more research or not, frustrated with it all I just took a break from it and I am still on it knowing that I need to get back to it, but I’m not ready mood does make a difference and life happens the things that have to be done and then the unpredicted things that will always be there lurking only to sneak up on us when you least expect it.
I am still thinking about product creation week 8 think I need to go back and start there again and see what I missed what I can come up with, never to give up but succeed. Hey maybe we can help each other help ourselves. Also what I have learned from all this blog hopping is we could do nothing and nothing will happened or Take Action and make it happened. When I see your blog header I wish I could see it in person well maybe someday Robin it’s awesome.
Have a great day.
Enjoy the Challenge.

Getting over the hump can be very hard to do when you loose the confidence to know what, how etc. to write. With all the incredible comments that I have received the only way to go is one step at a time, one page at a time. The 100 Comment Challenge has certainly helped and I think it has also helped a lot of other people take that one extra step.

Hi Robyn
Made it to your blog at last, great post regarding your dilema and a lot of other people’s as well if they are honest.
You are already a success, how many people that show an interest in internet marketing have set up a great blog like yours? – 5% at the most I would think, success doesn’t have to mean great wealth.
I am useless at the technical aspects of blogs and websites but I have a great techie friend who is an expert, so I am happy to let him do that side of things while I do the writing. I suppose you could call it outsourcing.
You don’t have to follow the herd, be an individual, there are other ways to make money on the internet than writing ebooks. I have had a physical book published, and I am certainly no writer in the traditional sense, so even though I have no problem with writers block, I already have plans for one of these alternatives.
I am sure it will all come good in the end and don’t forget ‘you are not a failure until you quit’.

Robyn,
You raise an important question about getting clear on our choices. I believe we should give things we commit to our best shot and then review what we have accomplished and what’s the best step to take next. Sometimes, the answer might be to move on or in a new direction. Reflect on your goals and make the necessary changes. Did my last comment end in your spam box? I used the name ElizOF.

Hi Robyn!
This is a really great post! Largely because depending on what a person is facing, it can be a very difficult question!!
I recall when I started my very business, a semi truck, I approached it with the attitude that; “Failure is not an option”. So anything that needed to be done was done!
Fast forward to today … a couple million miles, and several bumps on the head later, and I’m not so guhn-hoo to; “get it done – what ever the cost!”
I really enjoyed your post saying; Life is full of decisions, sometimes we make the right ones, and sometimes we don’t. Either way we have to live with our decisions and learn from them.
It speaks to self responsibility, and even accountability. Two things that are some times lost in today society.
Plus, I’m probably going to have to steal the wonder saying/quote you gave us – a problem shared is a problem solved. Great stuff!
Thank you Robyn!
